How to Accumulate “FLY ON Points”

For every eligible flight you take, you will be awarded FLY ON Points automatically. Based on the points accumulated during the calendar year, service for the appropriate membership level (CRYSTAL, SAPPHIRE, JGC PREMIER, or DIAMOND) will apply, and extra benefits will be offered.

"FLY ON Program" Point Bonus Campaign!

  • *1 Applicable with fares eligible for JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) mileage accumulation. Code-share flights operated by other airlines, bearing JAL flight numbers are eligible for FLY ON Points.
  • *2 JGC PREMIER Service is eligible only for JAL Global Club members.
  • *3 This award is only applicable to JMB members in outside Japan.
  • In order to receive FLY ON Program service status based on total number of FLY ON Points and boarded flights , you must take at least 4 JAL Group Airlines flights with fares eligible for JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) mileage accumulation during the applicable year.
  • FLY ON Points differ from flight miles, which are used to redeem JMB awards such as award tickets and upgrades.
  • Shopping miles, hotel miles, and miles accrued to your account by promotional campaigns or traveling on our partner airlines' flights are not converted to FLY ON Points.
  • Ryukyu Air Commuter (RAC) flights operating on NAHA=KUMEJIMA/MIYAKO/YONAGUNI, ISHIGAKI=MIYAKO/YONAGUNI routes are eligible for FLY ON Points accumlation.
  • Only the service of the highest tier achieved in the previous calendar year will be provided and services may not be used in duplication.
  • Flight calculation is based on number of flights with fares eligible for FLY ON Point accumulation.

How the new calculation method works

FLY ON Points = Flight mileage x FLY ON Point conversion rate + Bonus point

“FLY ON Program” Membership Eligibility Period

Membership is valid until March 31 of the second year following membership qualification.
There are two phases to the “FLY ON Program” benefits, one which starts after two months following qualification for membership and the other which starts from April of the following year.

A membership card will be issued within two months following qualification for membership. This card enables you to take advantage of the services and is valid until March 31 of the following year after membership qualification.
A full membership card of the highest tier achieved in the previous year will be issued in March.

All coupons are sent to members around March 31 of the following year, based on the highest membership level reached in the calendar year (January-December) preceding the date on which sufficient Fly On points were accumulated.

Based on the points accumulated during the calendar year, service for the appropriate membership level will apply, starting within the two months after the member reaches the required number of FLY ON Points.

  • JGC Members enjoying JMB CRYSTAL are welcome to access the airport lounges on presentation of JGC Membership cards.
  • Services of FLY ON Program are not given in duplication with the service of JAL Global Club.

Membership Level Renewal

At the expiry of your current membership level, JAL will issue a new membership card and coupons for qualified members. Membership levels are determined based on your points accumulation (or number of eligible flights) for the preceding calendar year from January-December.

Membership Level Upgrades

As soon as you reach the required number of FLY ON Points or number of flights eligible for a higher tier in one calendar year, you will receive a “FLY ON Card” within two months, which activates services that enables you to take advantage of the higher service. This service is effective only on advancing to a higher level in a single calendar year.

Upgrade Certificates : Conditions of Use

(Upgrade Certificate, Upgrade Certificate for "class J")

  • Member, spouse of the member and relative of the member within the second degree are eligible.
  • For Upgrade Certificates, one certificate is required per international sector to upgrade the class of service. For Upgrade Certificate for "class J", one certificate is needed per domestic sector to upgrade to "Class J".
  • Award coupons cannot be used when traveling on fares not eligible for JMB mileage accumulation, such as individual or group all-inclusive tour fares (international), individual all-inclusive discount tour fares (domestic), group package tour fares (domestic), JMB award tickets and special discount fares. However, if a “Class J” seat is available on a flight at the airport on the departure day, an upgrade coupon can be used with an individual all-inclusive tour fare for domestic package tours. Award coupons are not cumulative and cannot be used in duplication with other awards.
  • The Japan Domestic First Class upgrade award is not available in the JMB FLY ON Program.
  • When using an upgrade certificate, only the following fares are eligible.

[ Fares eligible for "Upgrade Certificates" ]

  • J,C,D,Y,B,H,K,L, and W classes printed in the class code of tickets are eligible for upgrades.
    (Executive Class fares, JAL Business Saver fares, Normal Economy Class fares, JAL Economy Saver Flex fares, JAL Economy Saver Premium fares, IATA PEX, JAL Economy Saver fares and other fares.)

[ Ineligible Fares ]

Award tickets, some discounted fares issued outside Japan, individual or group inclusive tour fares for package tours*1, JAL Goku fares issued in Japan*2, special discounted fares, barter tickets and tickets issued subject to special provisions.

  • *1 The upgrade certificate for “Class J” can be used only if a “Class J” seat is available on a domestic flight of the international ticket at the airport on the departure day.
  • *2 The upgrade certificate for “Class J” can be used for reservation of a Japan domestic flight of an international ticket.
  • Please be sure to make a reservation in higher class of service("Class J" for domestic flight) through JAL reservation center prior to the departure date of your flight.
  • "Class J" reservations with fares ineligible for changes (includes Tokubin Waribiki, Maeuri, Sliver Seat fares, e-wari fares, JAL Bargain fares etc.) may not be accepted after ticket issuance or Ticketless Service. Please be sure to make a reservation before ticket issuanse.
  • Please note that there are dates and fares with which you cannot use these certificates.(Restricted travel dates for international flights same as for to JMB award tickets. Refer to JMB handbook for details.)
  • The availability of seats for International Upgrade Awards may be limited regardless of whether the travel falls outside of the restricted travel dates. In additional, the number of Class J seats for domestic travel may also be limited.
  • Please use award coupons within the validity period printed on the certificates or coupons. Boarding using these coupons is not permitted before or after the validity period.
  • Please present these certificates or coupons together with tickets to the check-in counter agent after detaching required number of certificates from the booklet.

Extra Checked Baggage Allowance (International and Japan Domestic)

Service cannot be used in conjunction with JAL Global Club benefits and other benefits for top-tier members.
